But for professional DJs, a wider range of functions is required, so they purchase paid versions of this program. It is quite enough for beginner class DJing. #REKORDBOX PARA DJ SERATO VS TRAKTOR SOFTWARE#The software also has a completely free version, which is likely to be pre-installed on the hardware. #REKORDBOX PARA DJ SERATO VS TRAKTOR LICENSE#If you’re buying a new DDJ-1000, chances are it already has the Rekordbox DJ software pre-installed and the license fee is already included.īut if you purchase the software separately, then the price will be as follows: However, this world of products is very vast and devices are also widespread. The disadvantage of the DJ software is that all extensions are only available at an additional cost and that Rekordbox DJ only works with Pioneer-branded products. The only catch: this is only possible with the most expensive subscription model and costs 29.99 euros per month. As a final feature, Rekordbox DJ offers the ability to store your entire music collection in the cloud (Dropbox) and play it directly from there. Overall, when it comes to performance, Rekordbox DJ is on par with the competition. ![]() The user interface can be customized with predefined screen sets. Rounding it all out is a live streaming of the playlist on their own social media platform called Kuvo, where the tracks are streamed to the audience in real time. #REKORDBOX PARA DJ SERATO VS TRAKTOR PRO#The similarities to Serato DJ Pro cannot be denied, but there are also differences: Rekordbox DJ’s track management offers, for example, in addition to smart playlists, its own tags and track recommendations. ![]() There is also a video mixing extension for Rekordbox DJ with text overlays and effects, and a DVS extension for media with timecode. #REKORDBOX PARA DJ SERATO VS TRAKTOR SERIES#For an additional fee, Rekordbox DJ can be expanded with an effects package from the RMX series or with a DMX lighting controller. Since the software is primarily designed for use with controllers, various pad effects are also available. Track analysis, including pitch detection and beat grid, is very accurate, and there’s a clear selection of effects on board. ![]() Rekordbox DJ offers four decks, a 64-slot sampler, and the usual basic features like hot cues and loops. DJ controllers from the DDJ series such as the DDJ-1000 or DDJ-400 are possible, but desktop media players from the CDJ and XDJ series are also supported. So lets' see where the different DVS trains roll towards. As with Serato, most of Rekordbox DJ’s features are only fully available with Pioneer hardware. So I will evaluate all options on the DVS market in Jan-March'16 again and decide which is best for me at this point as the frustrations with Traktor have reached an all time high due to bad dev & communication structures as well as long standing issues that aren't addressed. So being forced to use one-for-all solutions is a general source of frustrations for me, and Traktor is/was slightly better in allowing me w do the things I saw as fundamental (export playlists, with/without files etc) back when I switched furthermore Serato just p***ed me off with their attitude, or rather ineptitude, towards. But then again, I am very used to highly customize-able software, where nearly everything is workflow oriented (.), and if not you can write/script the bits needed through an open interface (python in most cases nowadays). Imo all DVS systems available suffer from the fact that they feel like toys not like tools. Unfortunately, there's not been much alternatives, and NI/Traktor was the least of different types of bad. The only reason for me to switch to another DVS system were if the upsides outweigh the downsides. I can't see NI failing releasing a new version of Traktor (3.0) before the holiday season. ScratchLive user's can be funny like that. Most of my DJ buddies are still using ScratchLive and pretty much refuse to use SDJ so they don't care much for new features, innovation, MIDI mapping, effects. Let's put it this way is there something SDJ/SL DVS can do that TSP can't? maybe sticker sync but that's. I love my Z2/Traktor and just want some features added to them. I switched from ScratchLive to TSP in 2012 although I still use SL/SDJ occasionally. No matter what the BPM or key of the next track is, you can create an. You want to bust a new cut that's gonna come from you. Add drama to your sets and easily mix different styles of music. There's no tazer scratch button in SDJ/SL/TSP. When using DVS most the innovations come from your mind to your hands not really from the software. Sure there's been features added SDJ and TSP but they were not specific to DVS with the exception of Sticker Sync (Serato). There have been no real innovations in DVS and there probably won't be. DVS is not dying and Traktor will not drop DVS. ![]()
